"I founded the company in Torquay with my wife, Sam in 1999. Since then, the company has obtained a national profile due to frequent and high quality referrals of new customers by existing clients. In addition, the company’s priority of maintaining a strong internet presence in line with the growth of the ecommerce industry has proved beneficial to business. Over the years, the business has expanded and now consists of a team of highly qualified and experienced chartered financial planners and administrators serving a growing and valued client base.
Originally, the office was set up in a garage at our house, followed by a converted stable annex. In 2014, following continual expansion, the business relocated to our current premises at the splendid Rockwood House in Parkhill Road, Torquay. A key strength we take pride in, is that we are still small enough to provide a bespoke service but large enough to have developed strategic alliances with some of the key providers in the industry. These include Fidelity, Old Mutual, Royal London and Aegon.
I am pleased to be able to say that my ambition to create a dynamic, exciting and sociable ‘business hub’ in Rockwood House has become a reality over the last few years. Sharing our premises are some fantastic companies offering equally diverse and quality services such as a web designer, a general insurance broker, a marketing company and IT support service. We are delighted to be working alongside these specialist firms.

In the early part of the year, we experienced two of the most extraordinary calendar quarters in history. But the difference in experience from an investment perspective versus the general public and most of the economy, could hardly be in greater contrast. Capital markets suffered the most rapid, and one of the deepest bear markets in Q1, only to be followed by one of the highest ever recorded quarterly stock market gains in history. Fortunately, with all that went on, clients’ portfolios experienced a much better time than many personal experiences. The Covid-19 pandemic affected all of us. Here at Pension Drawdown, we were delighted to see how well our clients’ portfolios recovered and bounced back from the global stock market downturn in March. Our aim is to continue to add value for clients by our careful management and diligent selection of diversified, quality funds. The graph highlights this very succinctly.
